Truman: re:<Lebed is noted for his no nonsense style and
publicly avowed intolerance for corruption>

The way your post talks about Lebed, I get the impression you think a "non nonsense style" and "avowed intolerance for corruption" are bad qualities. Maybe these are the exact leadership qualities Russia needs at this time. Maybe the need someone strong to re-nationalize the industries the current government practically gave away in their privatization program, and then re-sell them in a new privatization program at current fair values which take into account the inflation Russia has experienced. Maybe they need someone strong to repatriate funds stolen by corrupt politicians during the last 5 years. Maybe they need someone strong to stop the sell off of weapons to the highest bidder.

Of course, if Lebed leads them backwards to the former centralized "command economy", economic conditions in Russia will surely worsen. The next few years will be interesting times for Russians, for sure.

One hopes things will work out for the better over there. Let's keep our fingers crossed for them. Current events make one really appreciate living in our great country. Our problems seem small compared to those of Russia.

Truman,

thank you, I didn't buy the Spiders after all, no guts, no glory, I will re think it tomorrow. Can't wait to hear what Bob has to say this weekend. If he stays his course, I am missing an opportunity here, well below 110(he just said last weekend to get 'em below 110).
