jbn3,

Greetings my friend...VERY WELL said.

BTW, I understand there are rumors Yeltzen (sp?) may be resigning today. Have you heard any update on that, or did it occur?

Thanks,
T.R.

Thanks for an excellent explanation of Russia's problems. Just finished reading a book about a Russian family during the second world war.Called "Goodbye is not forever", it provides much insight into why Russia is so paranoid and so backwards in many ways, and how truly horrible the Russian govt has treated its people.

Hi 3,..Re:<< Russian Conundrum>>

Good summary of that country's woes. Maybe if some entrepreneurial mavericks from each town in the US (4 - 20 families) switched places with some decent people from corresponding sized towns in Russia for a couple of years we could get the direction and path started and they could learn the ropes of how to support and maintain infrastructure? Like a 21st century peace corps. Don't they participate in student exchange plans? Like a student exchange plan but for die hard capitalists?

Regards,

Lee

It's as almost they need, heaven forbid, a WAR to get the country going and focused.
