<<. I agree with you that the street may take a wait and see attitude if LU makes a big blockbuster purchase in the fall or winter.>>

On the other side, think of the potential pop if LU doesn't do "the big one"; I agree that the stock may being held back by concerns of a tough M or A.

I could be totally washed up but I recall McGinn saying that if they wanted to do an acquisition, they'd do it when they wanted to; point being that they aren't sitting around waiting until Oct. Also said that they liked the tack they'd taken to-date; the buy "little" niche companies to fill in the cracks (what I call the Cisco approach). This makes sense to me since Lu seems to have the capability to develop virtually whatever it wants. Sometimes, of course, it's cheaper to buy than to make.

I'd like to hear a good case made for why Lu should buy Asnd. I certainly could be missing something here.

Regards. ...Tim

Regarding the restriction on pooling of interest transactions:
Is the restriction on when such a transaction can be initiated or consummated? Could LU announce a pooling of interest tomorrow, to be completed after the date of the restriction? Or is the restriction absolute until the effective date?
