I wonder sometimes if these stories aren't made up to explain gold's slide. You'd have thought that Australian producers might prefer the spot market just now - but maybe not - can't think it through.

I'd have thought that the level of the CRB is probably the main reason - it adds to an already negative sentiment. Of course we're talking always of gold in $US - is there a composite chart showing gold against several currencies? E
