No, I'm quite certain of what I wrote. She said "McKenzie" and then something else that I blew off -- like the McKenzie Group, or McKenzie & some-other-name, or whatever. That, and the spelling, are the two things I didn't ask her to repeat. I suppose it could be "MacKenzie" or "McKensie" or any number of other variants. I was foolish, I guess, as well as distracted when the call came. As for the "survey" it consisted exactly of what I said -- essentially two questions. (1) When did I buy; and (2) how much per share. I may have imagined this, but she seemed somewhat surprised when I said my holdings had been purchased over time and while I could give her an average per share cost (none of your business, boys) I would have to consult my records to give her the price per share of each purchase. She then asked for the range (highest and lowest price per share). I can add this: the caller mentioned a specific number of shares she attributed to me. She was wrong. She had info that was about two years old. My position in Xoma has changed since then and whatever info she was working with didn't reflect that change. She then said something like, well, she would alert "the other girls" [sic] who were working with other lists that contained the balance of my shares so I wouldn't be called again. The more I think about this the stranger it gets. For example, how in hell did "McKenzie Whatever" get my phone number? I don't recall that such information in any way was requested at any time by Xoma. In fact, I can't think of any company I hold stock in that has ever requested my phone number. My broker wouldn't give my number out, I am sure. And, this board to the contrary notwithstanding, I value my privacy and have not disclosed my holdings, past or present, to anyone else. I suppose "McKenzie Whatever" could find my number easily enough with knowing my name & address, which the company has, of course, and then checking with telephone directories or Information. I have a listed phone number (under the name "Robert Tharos Wohanka" -- just kidding, guys) and it wouldn't be hard, just very tedious, to track me down. But that makes it all the more odd. WHY BOTHER???? The whole thing strikes me as very damned odd. Surely I am not the only person to get such a call -- am I?
