To Don and All: Again I guess I didn't state my point too well but the question to be asked is " Why would these guys bring a deal at the worst possible time?". Why should they leave money on the table?

To John B. regarding CIEN tried to take your advice the day b4 yesterday but it gapped away and I decided not too chase it. It since came down and now the deal is rumored to being done at 4.7 bill.
Under the new terms, 0.8 share of Tellabs will be exchanged for each CIENA share. This ratio values each CIENA share at $46.25, based on Tellabs's closing stock price on Thursday of $57.81. I guess it will gap open today.

To Don: Sony stock being hammered in Tokyo. Doesn't seem like the best time to buy US shares when yen and securities are down in Japan vis a vis US
