Shoe, the effect on CTXS is unclear. Certainly it takes away some potential.

shoe and Roger....

Load balancing software that Microsoft just bought will IMO be a BIG
problem for CTXS down the road.

Not today...but as customers migrate away from NT3.51 to go foward to NT4.0 or future NT5.0 terminal server ...the one main hook that CTXS had was load balancing.

Now if CTXS was the only load balancing game in town and they moved foward to supply load balancing for NT 4.0 and NT 5.0 they would have had a growth path.

With Microsoft's latest purchase I think this limits CTXS to ICA
and other ventures.

Long term this will hurt CTXS IMO.....unless they come up with something new.

This CTXS BULL now an X-Bull.

What I found very interesting in that article was the line. "It's sometimes cheaper to buy a company instead of licensing it." With Citrix we know they did the licensing. So I doubt CTXS will never get bought out by MSFT. I personally believe Citrix has some upside potential with their strong ties with the industry and with Microsoft, but I think there are better 10 baggers out there.
