I hate to disagree with you on that, I deal with the Russians on a regular basis, (oil and gas trader) the Russian people have enjoyed a sizable jump in their standard of living, in the recent years and to a certain extent like the "westernazation" but then again no money and going hungry is fuel for any fire.

Yes you are right, there is a very real potential there for some of the power mad fringe groups to come to power.

My money is on the Korea's or Pakistan and India being the flash point. They are a toss up as the wild card factor.

TS:

On the money; and they will be supported by US tax dollars. Gosh I wonder who started training the terorists in the first place? Sadly ironic they toasted Clinton while others of us were "vacationing" in Vietnam.

From the back burner -- It is impossible to debate cultural differences to any meaningful conclusion -- no right no wrong only incongruent philosophical presuppositions leading to vastly different perception. It is interesting to note that Saddam, and the Jihadists seem more consistent with their Moslem-based presuppositions than Clinton, who appears to the world at large, to reflects little more than the standards set forth by Larry Flint.

Do leaders always reflect the social values of the culture represented? Let's hope not.
