Valuable Point When someone asks me about a stock, unless I follow it and mention that fact specifically, my assessment will be made looking at the 5 minute chart. It is a chartist's viewpoint.', and not a detailed technical or neural or fundamental assessment. Its also free, so value it as such. In the past, other threaders would ask me for an opinion knowing that, and realizing what I look for in order to confirm or balance their own assessment. Over the last couple of years, that migrated to unknowns asking me for who-knows-what reason. I know a little about the markets, a little about analysis, a little about chart movements and patterns and some other aspects of trading. I am a generalist and not a resident expert (thanks t'for the kind thought though). I know a lot about neural nets, but other than Optim, and a few others, it is not something I recommend for general discussion unless one really can't get to sleep at night. I would also like to take this thread away from detailed looks at individual stocks. They are certainly worth pointing out if one has a question of observation or wants to proffer a Watch List based on some method or strategy, but there are enough threads out there that do the same thing, and many for specific stocks that certaily have a more rounded assessment that I could make. I like beginner's questions, and I desire the input of folks like Copia, Kinnon, Optim, Jordan, Roberts, Kim, Judy, Sue and other experienced and knowledgeable traders. This is a place to share and learn and grow, and there isn't any 'one on the planet that can't find some benefit in that. After all, if one knows everything, what would be the point of coming here. People ask for my opinions, evaluations, Watch Lists and information. I share them and they will be right sometimes and wrong sometimes, for all kinds of reasons. Everyone's will be. That is, after all, the reason for Due Diligence. So if asked, I will offer an opinion on a stock. To Ken's point, if someone h'else has a better view , or a different one, or especially a counter view, please post it. Everyone will learn more from that than listening to me. Also understand that I can't always respond intraday, and so if one needs more timely advice, there is still the Market Gems thread to ask the folks there. To the requests, yes, I plan to start posting what is worth having as tools and software and how to learn to trade for postion (dat'ytrading is different, and I will touch on that, but for the newbie, you have to learn to walk before you can run. What I will probably do is post something about reading mar'terial first, and then move to online sources and then software tools. I have read and used lots of them, but I would like everyone to jump in and mention the ones they see as valuable along the way. The reason is that everyone needs to find their own trading style and pace that utilizes the tools that fit their skills and comfort level. So there is no one solution. There is also no secret to trading successfully. There are some disciplines required, and some knowledge one can learn either the hard or easy way, but hopefully we can share those here. lastshadow
