Anybody short ANLT? Down 2 1/8 for the day. It closed yesterday on an uptick, so you could have placed a short sell order before this morning's open.

This may be morbid, but YEE HA!

WAVO and DSET continue to drop, as does QWST. YEE HA again!

If the market wants to tank, I figure why fight it when you can join it with stocks that are on a steady down trend (as opposed to a sudden drop caused by general market conditions) and have broken below support levels.

In the last two weeks, my regular portfolio (as opposed to my SEP-IRA, which is down) is up 40% by applying this criteria and shorting stocks. Please understand that I'm not saying this to boast, but simply to point out a potentially successful way to play this market.

On the long front, THNK began to recover today and NMGC hit then bounced off its support level as did SIRN. All three may be good buys at these levels but need careful monitoring.

Sandra,

How are things in FL? Hoping that the storms pass you by! As much as I hate to admit it, being the eternal bull, I think that we will go much lower on the broader side of the market next week. This weekend should prove to be a pivot point due to all of the news, world wide, and domestic, that drive our markets. With the DOW closing below 8100 today does not bode well for us bulls. Hence, I will be trying to contribute those stocks that are the reverse of what we have been trying so hard to discover in the past. I do not like shorting stocks as it goes against the nature of our goal, however, mercenary as it is a gain is a gain.

Stocks making new lows will not be difficult to find presently, but finding those with the largest potential loss (gain) will be the key to making personal money for a portfolio that is down miserably (mine)
Let the games begin.

First for those interested OMPT just broke below a 52 week low at 13 1/2 nearest support is at around 8. The co. has never made money, as a claim to fame is a sub. of a larger co. IPO'ed less than a year ago and looks to be going lower. Subscriber base is growing, but at a less than industry rate.

Just the beginning and tired of losing

Ken

Sandra did you get into ABTX yesterday? ---for those holding PSFT glad to see it up 5+,that was an overkill if I ever saw one--I think the shorts have left it today.
For those you get TIME magazine,it has a special supplememt this week called TIME digital and it has an article for those interested
in Internet stocks entitled "Martyred by MICROSOFT" it is about Rob Glaser(a genius in his own right) and his war with his old associate
Bill Gates over the matter of RNWK--it's an excellent article.
The RNWK stock continues to get punished severely for Glaser taking on Gates--but if one were to risk a bet here against Gates the payoff would be large if Glaser prevails.I am going to study up on this situation--as frankly I think RNWK is has a superior product--from
the original RA to what they have now--they have worked wonders.
Also,in spite of PSIXs pop of 2 points today--from a TA angle I
am not yet confident about it and am staying on the sidelines.
Last night I realized it would be a piece of cake to make a really
nice day trade--but on getting up I said "I am not in the mood" and spent a day beachcombing(my truest gift--I am master of just loafing:)--Max
