John, thanks. What do you make of the following insider trade?

Message 2544 of 2544 - YAHOO
ÿÿÿÿ ÿÿÿÿÿ

Hmmmm.....Michael
Birck gave gifts (to the
kiddies?)

Yup...he gave gifts of 18,902 TLAB shares on July 21...now what kind of man
gives gifts that he doesn't KNOW will appreciate?
And, incidentally, their stock on July 21 was close to $90!
(do you suppose he might have suggested "the kiddies" sell out right
away?)Would be interested to hear others interrpretation of this strange action.

Sure, it's in Telabs interests for their stock to nosedive leading up to
merger...and then pop. Insider trading tells it all...hold onto your shares if
CIEN. The institutions can't afford NOT to buy back into Tlabs before merger,
thus boosting CIEN's take as the gap narrows.

John what do you or anyone else here make of the after hours trades in TLAB ? Two trades of 50,000 shs. at 51, one of 30,100 at 51, and one of 5000 at 53 1/8. Then smaller 100 size trades at 49. Can somebody explain this ? Does anybody remember, was it last year, I can't remember exactly when, but when 3COM was going to buy U.S. Robotics, initially COMS took a dive, and USRX followed , but as the time for the deal to close got closer both stocks took off.
