Tony,

Just be thankful it (the pep talk) wasn't televised on CNBC. <g>

Take the PEP TALK info from Yahoo with a grain of salt, maybe two.

Pair has been shifting towards system integration for their clients since last year when they began to de-emphasize HDSL and T1/E1 products in the US (their total revenues from this segment has declined from 75% in 2H '97 to the current 65%; plan is to have around 50% of their revenues from this COMMODITY beginning 1Q '99). This market shift has been in place for over a year. They will continue to win contracts in this area, and will likely maintain 70% to 75% of the market share. The revenue percentage shift will come from growth in other areas (other area include HDSL deployment internationally as they consider this a separate segment for accounting purposes). These messages are consistent with what has been talked about in the CCs following earnings announcements and the analyst reports.
