Betty, from my discussions with Dr. Martinez, I can tell you that IBM is using synchrotrons, which are cost prohibitive for smaller semiconductor makers. They (smaller semiconductor makers) will embrace the XRL point source rather than the synchrotron. The stumbling block in XRL today is the power level of the point source and the integration with the collimater (I think I spelled it right..). From what I have heard, JMAR will make the breakthrough next year in power levels (at least that is the plan). They are working as a team at livermore to produce the complete system. Time will tell...

Short interest figures are out for August. Essentially unchanged.

Elizabeth,

Could you please assist me in completing a quick estimate of Jmar's projected 1999 earnings by answering the following questions. While I too was at the annual meeting, my notes are not near as complete as yours.

1) What are the dates for completion of the major milestones in DAPRA contract?

2) Do you have info on the percentage of total contract pay out for each of the milestones?

3) What is the structure of the contract? Is it cost plus? If so what is the margin?

4) Could you please outline the required accomplishments at each milestone?

I am sorry for asking for so much, but I figure you are the only one who can probably answer these questions, short of the company itself. I am guessing you are going to be a lot quicker. I will reciprocate by giving you my estimate of earnings for the remainder of 99 (for what it is worth).

Thanks in advance.

Did I say something misleading about the company?
