dan -
I hear that the more features crowd was winning by a landslide up until a month ago when the product groups started reporting to ballmer. rumor has it that ballmer, who probably has a better idea of what features are really needed in the market, has rearranged priorities around getting to closure. time will tell what gets whacked out to get things back on schedule but I'm sure that pulling in the dates is not among the options.

Has there been a study suggesting how 40million lines of NT5 code
versus 11million lines of code of Solaris breaks down in terms of
features?

I haven't seen any proof that supports Nicholas Petreley's reporting
that Nt5 code is bloated because of extensive patching caused by poor
design.

This Petreley character has the same problem as you Dan. You are both
hypocrites. Why isn't Petreley criticizing the terrible quality,
bloat, documentation, performance, and shipping delays of Sun's JDK?
