With all due respect I have to disagree. When you deal with people and money, people can become Dr. Jeckle and Mr Hyde.

Example:
MR. XYZ a poster in investment chat rooms, had success with certain stocks. He unknowingly developed a following and one of those people who doesn't like doing his/her Due Diligence invests his/her lifes savings because MR. XYZ had past success with certain stocks.

Then that stock crashed, the person who foolishly invested all his money without doing his/her DD, blames MR. XYZ or other posters on the thread. If this person who lost all his money has "a few screws loose", do you really want him/her to know your real name?

If you use your real name, in a matter of minutes, if you know what you are doing, you would be surprised what they can find out about you.

Just my opinion!!

James,

Just because you say your name is "James Strauss", how would one know whether or not that is your real name?

Would you value my opinion any more if my name was Bull Z. Rider?

How would you know whether or not it was my real name, with all of the weird names you see posted?

I personally think it is what one says that matters, and not what one says his (or her) name is. After all, anonymity is the reason most people will share their opinions, and I really don't care who you or any of the other posters are.

Take everything you read with a grain of salt, sort through them, and let that be the beginning of your research.

Above all, have fun.
Phil, (my real name)
