Rare,

I would further add that the Bull Market is over for now

I don't know if I agree with that. The stock picker part I agree with, but that the Bull is dead is another thing entirely. Realize that liquidity, despite the apparent heavy trading volumes, has happened in one of the least liquid times of the year, August. Many money managers and traders are still on their summer recess, and will not be back until Labor Day. Their return will surely add some substantial liquidity, the question is, will they be buying, or merely participate in the sell-off? That question is one that no one can answer. Personally, I look at this as a pause, and a long overdue pause.

Cash is King in this environment unless your comfortable with and know how to sell short.

Cash is indeed king at the moment, but shorting isn't my idea of a good time, but I do see the economic benefits. However, I am a buyer for the next 20 years or so, so I am on the opposite side. I am buying Dec 00 and 01 LEAPS all over the place. They have, for all intents and purposes, been taken out shot. Premiums are remarkably low, some are at tremendous discounts to time value. I haven't bought puts in while, though I think I should.

Finally,

MO is the needle in the hay stack here

Music to my ears. Play that funky tune...

later,
geoff
