off topic- Rare,Geoff,
do you also follow gold stocks?
ABX is trading at a year low. Just would like to know your opinion about the long term perspective of the gold price. Do you think gold stocks are another good long term investment? I don't want to start a discussion here, I am only interested in your opinion.

Ralph

OT - Too bad stocks aren't more like baseball cards. Sat night I came home late and flipped on the tv, and some guy was hocking Mark McGwire's rookie card, the Topps '95 one. Suddenly, my attention was focused solely on the price he said it was selling at in mint condition -- $2,000+! I thought, no way in hell. Then remembered, hey, I've got two of those suckers! One is damn close to mint, the other is a little worse. Now, wouldn't it be nice to "forget" about stock investments to have someone on TV tell you 12 years later that the card you bought for $20 is now worth close to $2,000? Amazing. I bought one McGwire card, and the other came with the 1995 set.

Just a little food for thought.
