You have stated before that you have knowledge in the realm of intranet development. So I would like to ask some questions. I am more of a programmer type as opposed to a network type person I have stated before that I have knowledge of Internet Architecture. The Intranet is related, but I don't claim to be an expect in Intranets. I am also a programmer as well as a network engineer. 1.) Who are you referring to when you say (i.e. the big boys)??? Netscape, Scape Communications, Baron & Associates, Intranet Communications. 2.) Please direct me to some white-papers, magazine journals, or list some articles that refer to specific companies that are leading the charge in intranet open standards.(website or paper source will be fine) yahoo.com 3.) What are your insights or definitions of open standards for Intranets??? My insights are that open standards are a must for Intranet developers. Especially in the market FNTN is trying to corner. Let's say that FNTN gets a few Broker Dealers on the Video side of things. Now another company offers training/demos of other mutual funds etc. But that company doesn't use the same hardware as FNTN provides, so they can't use the existing setup to view another providers information. It's kind of like having to have a different type of TV for every channel you watch. Proprietary usually implies that that system will not be interchangable and/or functional with another vendors equipment.
