Futures now up 23. Wild volatility. If it sticks, then after being down 500 points we'll be up 250 on the open

Yes, a pain in the neck.I'm betting Globex does not break 990 or so then fails.

My alternative is to cover and sell 1000 but I wish to see how much they got through the evening.

Globex seems quite confident. Me, I'm not so sure a rally won't be sold in the AM.

Now at 978

There is an interesting comment by Larry McMillan today. He notes the day after the 1987 debacle the Fed lowered and the market gapped open about 200 points. But by noon it was down and in free-fall.

So perhaps that should be a clue to me to back off and wait.
