Hi Michael, Well...cash and other assets are a matter of public record and are easily accessible to anyone with 10 minutes to spare for reading some SEC filings. On the Cirrus patents my guess is that it was more in the way of an out of court settlement to acquire patents that they may have sort of "borrowed". The write offs were done at the same time as when they took profits on the sale of USC stock. I suspect it was done largely to get tax benefits to off set the sale. There has been a great deal of speculation on the Exponential patents in the past. My personal opinion is that eventually, over the next few years, a large percentage of the market will shift toward a single chip solution. From a strategic stand point, I don't think S3 will have any choice but to develop a processor as part of their product offerings. From what I've read, those patents give them that capability and pre date INTCs patents. There used to be a saying "Walk soft and carry a big stick." It certainly applies while wandering through woods populated by 800 pound gorillas. IF they ARE working on something along those lines, I sincerely doubt it would be in their best interest to make a big hairy nuisance of themselves with a bunch of announcements this early in the game. A big stick is a good thing to have handy, but it's best not to be noticed. I don't like sitting on a loss any more than the next guy. Watching my assets decrease on paper by almost 18 grand in the last week, is annoying to say the least. The bottom line is that the fundamentals that caused me to believe SIII is a good value investment haven't changed a bit since I bought my first shares. You have to have ice water in your veins to play unpopular stocks close to the bottom. Regards, Don PS: This is not investment advise. Just one persons opinion, subject to change without notice.
