My Dell came with a defective monitor. they are sending me a new one though...I should be getting it today or tomorrow. The fan was also rattling yesterday...that was manually fixed, yet the problem will likely come back. The majority of DELL holders don't want to hear this...they just rationalize that Dell has to make some defective machines and you (we) unfortunatly got the rare dud. however, given DELL's tremendous growth it is not unreasonable to surmise that DELL will have increased quality control.

Now just need to help Microsoft write better NT code.

Jack -
Every major vendor has some service problems. Among the majors, Dell gets the highest marks for customer support. CPQ and HP used to be the best but have fallen back recently. Dell is also putting a lot of effort into improving their service to increase their lead in this critical area. Sorry you had a problem, but based on broad based independent surveys, that is the exception rather than the rule for Dell customers.
