<<Jimmy... did you call them and complain?>>

Yes I called several times until I got the confirms. They said that, because of the high volume, big Nasdaq stocks had been taking some time to get confirms from the floor, and this had affected many customers, but not to worry, they'd nevertheless be executed at the price at the time I placed the order.

That's fine but in the meantime I was in agony yesterday morning waiting for the sale confirm. I placed the market sell order at 119 3/8 and the price was steadily dropping. 45 minutes later, when I got the confirm that I had in fact gotten 119 3/8, I was a nutcase - the stock was 10 points lower.

Also, this tied up my money so I couldn't trade and take advantage of the unusual volatility.

Believe me I let Fidelity know I wasn't happy with this. But I must say this sort of thing is EXTREMELY rare with Fidelity. Usually when I place a market order for DELL or any other stock (except Amex stocks) the confirm is instantaneous and at a very good price.
