Len,

Was an oxygen mask considered a frill?

We didn't need one on that flight, so I don't know. FWIW, the flight attendants did go through the usual oxygen mask routine, and the "your seat cushion doubles as a flotation device" routine, even though we were nowheres near any water.

No frills meant nothing really fancy. We did get the usual beverage service (soda free; alcohol you pay, I think), a snack bag that included something akin to frozen fruit punch (sort of like Italian ice; wasn't awful) and peanuts or pretzels as I remember.
