I never said you could not make money short term trading. If one plays blackjack using the best mathematical odds methods, you have about a 45% chance of winning most hands. Problem is that if you have any statistical background or if you have ever been around people who are chronic gamblers, you realize that only a tiny fraction of the people stay up in the long run. Good timing for your friend. Just hope he doesn't honestly believe that he has a magic gift for timing the market. Kory
