Sorry to inform you. The agreement is that you scratch my back and I scratch yours. I need your 0.18um transistors and copper and in turn I give you back my flash technology. There is NO JOINT DEVELOPMENT, only process BEYOND 0.18um! It is called COPY EXACT, a technique widely used by Gary Barrett at Intel. It takes 6 months to bring up the new fab with the COPY EXACT. It is too bad that Intel has to develop everything. Collaboration is better than individual research. No one to partner with Intel because they are too greedy and exemplify "bad sports". To keep up they go out and COPY other people technology such as "branch prediction" from DEC, "polishing technology", "shallow trench isolation", "bump interconnect", and soon to be "copper interconnect" and "SOI". And you call that superior process technology?
