I've talked to someone who knows alot about the technology industry and he said the buyout is unlikely due to MSFT relationship towards SAP and Baan. He gave other reasons that we discussed already on this thread. Of course he added...MSFT has surprised him in the past.

The question one must ask no is if one should buy more PSFT before the conference tomorrow. Without this conference, PSFT probably would be trading in the mid to high 20s. Perhaps, Chuzzlewit would have liked this... I personally would like to see PSFT continue to go up.

Actually, all kidding aside, I have wondered when/if the msft commoditization of the ERP (or any) high end apps will begin. Obviously theyve never done anything with big, customizable applications before but being as its such a huge mkt it seems msft will eventually have to attack. They might have tried something with Quickbooks if the merger had gone through is my guess.
