the only thing that bothers me about this is that i would think that they will faze out the jaz1 witht 2 at the same price point....that is what it looks like at ingram(pricing only) they are still getting in a steady stream of product....i would not think they would faze the entire line out.....but who knows.

Thanks, Dale. I think the demand would be there, but for the price. Vis a vis the cost of fixed hard drives, they're just too overpriced. What I like about Jaz is that even if the Jaz drive crashes, you've still got your data, unlike with the fixed HD. To me, that's the value of the big removeable, but at current prices, you can instead back up a whole lot to a "slave" fixed HD.
