I doubt that oil will go out of fashion within my life time, and I intend to live an abnormally long life :D). Besides being used for fuel, all your synthetic materials come from oil. And anyways hydrogen first has to be made cheaper than oil, then it has to become more convinient than oil, and the the consumer product companies have to be convinced that it is more profitable for them to convert their goods to make use of hydrogen than their existing set up. I can't put coal in my car and it was inconvient even for the trains (someone had to shovel it in). So it was obvious from the begining that Coal would lose the battle to Oil. I can't think of a similar situation with Oil Vs. Hydrogen. In any event, if you think shorting oil Cos and buying hydrogen guys is the way to go, I'm all ears; present your case.

PS I'm not sure how the score is calculated, but click on the "Hot" link on top of the page and you'll see that dwarf the number two thread by almost 2:1 ratio.

Mike, note that the number of hits that a thread receives and the number of people that bookmark the thread all count towards the ratings.

I don't have anything to add to this thread at this time but thank-you Sun for starting it! ;>)
