Duke, I've read it over and will mull over my ideas tomorrow...I can track up to 1500 portfolios, but don't really want that many to work with...however a group of 10 to 20 would not be out of line...

Nice thought on your part, thanks so much...

Hello duke60,

Thanks for the PM regarding this post. Duke, I'm really not up to speed on what Preston and you are doing here. Are you attempting to confirm Davis' findings? Zeig's?

Are you comparing to a buy and hold ---? S&P? Valuline?

I would enjoy being of assistance. Perhaps you could go thru the when, where, who, what, how and why's of what you good guy's are doing.

For instance: I have created an evolving set of rules for long and short term trading of both shorts and longs using P&F charts and a few ancillary indicators. It's primarily stolen ideas with a slight massage here and there. I then back test it by hand. But, I know what Davis and Zeig found so I don't try to substantiate their findings. I often use their findings as the beginning point of my backtesting.

Take care,

Eric
