GV, Well, I guess we should both go back and read post 2056 on this thread where tomabre heard from ir at psft that nothing material would be presented on this call. Could have probably made Raptor happy by having fewer posts for him to read. Actually---I'm only writing all this stuff so Raptor doesn't get bored on his vacation.<VBG>

A slowdown would be material. To suddenly see y2k as a serious issue would be material. Actually, I guess it would even be material if they said their growth rate is actually going to be higher than anticipated. (though that I wouldn't mind).

So this is probably going to be a non event and may just be the beginning of regular conference calls by psft. Though hopefully the one positive outcome might be to get some analysts more comfortable w/ the company's prospects. Plus, I think it's good to have these calls anyway. It's really the only way we mere mortals get a chance to hear anything other than the written word which I'm sure is carefully edited.

Re: the y2k issue. I can't comment on this point since I just don't have the information. I can't remember though whether any of the other ERP vendors have pointed to y2k as a cause of slowing growth. Have they? I know I should know this. Sometimes I wonder if there isn't just too much information to keep track of. I still have a hard time thinking that the large multinatioal companies psft sells to still haven't gotten their y2k stuff out of the way by now.

Re: manu blowing the quarter. I think that may have been a case of poor management vs. a sudden surprise. Look at what they did the quarter before. Instead of blowing it they blew it out. If they hadn't done that they probably would have been ok the next quarter.

Y2k can also help psft sales.

I'm on a psft implementation now, instead of making all their old systems Y2k compliant, they replaced them w/ psft HR and Financials.
