SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Helping businesses choose the best PC solutions for their needs, Acer America, subsidiary of the Acer Group, the world's third largest PC manufacturer, today launched two new lines of corporate computers -- the AcerPower 4100 series and the AcerPower 6000 series. These two new PC lines offer Acer customers a broad selection of high-performance, low-cost PC solutions that are optimized for use in a variety of computing environments.

For professionals who need exceptional desktop performance at competitive prices, the AcerPower 4100 series offers state-of-the-art performance, integrated networking and system expandability. By comparison, the AcerPower 6000 series is an ideal entry-level solution for small businesses, educational institutions and those with limited budgets that need a reliable solution to run day-to-day tasks such as e-mail, Internet browsing, and basic office applications.

"By expanding the AcerPower corporate computer family, Acer customers can choose the best PC solution to fit their computing needs," said Gregg Prendergast, director of the Reseller Business Division at Acer. "With the addition of the AcerPower 4100 and 6000 series, Acer channel partners can confidently offer top-quality systems that exceed their customers expectations."

AcerPower 4100

The AcerPower 4100 family incorporates the latest high-performance technologies with integrated networking and excellent expandability features for businesses that need extremely robust networked solutions.

Powered by a spectrum of Intel Pentium(R) II processors, including the fastest available today -- 450MHz -- the AcerPower 4100 series is the first line of desktop PC solutions from Acer to bring cutting-edge technologies, such as 100MHz front-side bus, to sub-$1,500 price points.

Ideal for networked environments, the AcerPower 4100 hosts an array of network and management features, such as Wakeup On LAN and integrated PCI 10/100 Ethernet. The series is DMI 2.0 and S.M.A.R.T system
compliant and designed to meet Wired for Management (WFM) 1.1 baseline standards. This translates to the AcerPower 4100 line as being one of the most advanced and easiest to manage node-to-network connectivity
solutions.

An integrated 64-bit ATI Rage Pro Turbo AGP 2x video graphics solution with 4MB SGRAM provides lightning-fast video performance, which is supported by an integrated 16-bit SoundBlaster(R) compatible audio
solution. A 32-speed (maximum) CD-ROM drive and optional stereo speakers round-out the AcerPower 4100 series as a smart choice for those who need high-performance graphics and multimedia performance.

AcerPower 6000 Series

The AcerPower 6000 series provides users with a reliable, entry-level solution, without having to sacrifice performance or quality. With enhanced design features, multiple permutations of processors and peripherals can be selected, thus making the AcerPower 6000 an excellent choice for most any need.

Designed for optimal cost savings and performance, the AcerPower 6000 family sports a variety of Intel processors, including Intel Celeron(R) and Intel Pentium II processors, ranging from 266-to-333MHz.

The AcerPower 6000 series can be configured in a variety of ways to meet any business need. Multiple hard disk options, starting from 3.2GB can be selected, as well as other features, such as a 3Com(R)-based integrated Ethernet adapter or 56K modem communications. Included with the AcerPower 6000 series is a fast ATI AGP 4MB SGRAM video solution with integrated audio to provide solid Web and multimedia performance.

Good Morning Jim,

The next time Intel drops I will blame it on the Bossa Nova like you suggested but in the mean time maybe you could tell us all what is wrong with intel and convince us less enlightened souls the merits of Tom Kurlaq and the purpose of his too frequent comments abouts Intel. Convince me and the others who read this thread that Intel's stock has not been placed at the mercy
of Merrill's top gun Tom K. for the past year and probably much longer.

Did somebody here skip a beat or mis a step?

Thank you
Frank
