Stan,
I understand your desire not to let a search for the truth turn into a conflict between believers. I pray not to be misled in what I believe, the biggest threat to us is that we fall for some false teaching. And in these times when a hundred denominations each teach something different, and thousands of individuals have split off the spirit filled movement each with their own view......

When Jesus discussed the parable of the wheat and the tares He said let them grow together until the harvest. To try to separate them before the harvest would possibly root up some wheat with the tares. He did not want to do that. In explaining to His disciples He stated that the harvest was at the end of the age, the wheat and tares would be separated then. So where is this separating process? I think it is the mark of the beast. It states that whoever takes the mark of the beast is doomed, those that refuse are saved. Each makes the decision themselves. Whoever's name is not written in the book of life will worship the beast (Rev. 13:8). Immediately after this process is the harvest in Rev. 14:14. Read Rev. 13 and 14 with the idea of the separating in mind. It makes perfect sense. My bible has a 1 next to tares in Matt. 13:25, that means there is a more literal translation. It is [or, darnel, a weed resembling wheat]. So a weed that resembles wheat called darnel is the tares in this parable. It is easy to tell the world from the christians, both true and false. But who can tell then true christian from the false? I cannot. The process of the mark of the beast will separate those tares that resemble wheat from the real wheat.

If the church is gone (pre-trib) then who is referred to in Rev. 13:7-10.

7 And it was given to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them; and authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation was given to him.
8 And all who dwell on the earth will worship him, every one who's name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the lamb who has been slain.
9 If anyone has an ear to hear, let him hear.
10 If any one is destined for captivity, to captivity he goes; if anyone kills with the sword, with the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and the faith of the saints.

Now the scripture says "perseverance and faith of the saints" at this time when the beast is making war with them. We are in spiritual warfare all the time. This will intensify at the end. Imagine the spiritual warfare taking place when the beast emerges and clashes with the Holy Spirit in the "true believers". We will be in warfare when we are resisting the beast as he tries to subjugate us into his kingdom.

In Rev. 14:12
Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandment of God and their faith in Jesus.

There is a 1 before "saints" in that verse. The literal is "true believer". Wheat!! not a darnel which resembles wheat. The perseverance of the saints who keep their faith in Jesus! The beast is trying to make the saints denounce Jesus and take the mark, making them his. The "true believers" will not. They persevere to the end. It's spiritual warfare to the end.
