Does not have to matter. The economy is nonlinear and reacts disproportionally to the stresses put on it. That's why it is so unpredictable.

If you consider the fact that Malaysia is one of the top exporters of semiconductor products. (Built for every gadget, router and piece of equipment) I would suggest that it would have an effect on the world's economy. Don't forget, Intel, LSI, Altera, AMD, and 80% of the world's semi companies manufacture in Malaysia.
