I have begun tradeing through an ECN, rather then Datek. I have found that Island(the clearing house for Datek) whom make markets is selling you its inventory(in my opinion). when I place a bid my price is never
hit unless the stock falls below the point. i have never(in hundreds of bids)gotten the actually price i wanted unless stock continued to go down. I would put orders in in the morning and not get stock despite there being several trades at my price. I now pay 25 a ticket but I get level 2, and can imidiatly hit bids myself. I think this is the wave of the future for stocks.
