LOL! Good alternative Eric, but, your kidding yourself if you dont think that Gates and his inner circle have not hinted or even directed all MSFT staff to do their part to up-hold the company image in whatever means possible and to whatever sources they have access to. That means the lowly MSFT developer or even Office Worker that has an account on SI finds it to be his/her duty to defend the MSFT honour and put down anti-MSFT posting, comments, etc. they hear. If Gates hasnt done this then he is not the crafty spin-doctor that I gave him and his company credit for. Sorry, your being naive if you think this message has not gone down through the ranks. Of course you would not ever hear that from a MSFT employee though. Toy

"MSFT employee plants"? You're kidding, right? You honestly believe that Microsoft's worried enough about what's being said on SI to tell employees to post here and defend the company? Uh, Eric? Are you new around here? There used to be a fair number, not that there was anything wrong with that. On the other thread I post to, a frequent contributor was on the list of people being deposed, and was also cited in other news stories about a certain meeting. No disparagement meant there either, he was in general an intelligent, polite and informative poster, and it's unfortunate he doesn't post anymore. He got a little abusive with the Netscape guys sometimes, but it went both ways there. He was also high enough up that his participation would have to be considered noticeable. Or maybe not, I get confused about who the relatively junior employees are these days. Cheers, Dan.

This thread has a different tone lately and it concerns me when people talk about cover ups and plants etc because it is beginning to reflect the bigger picture of our Presidents behavior of lying !! I believe the entire market is hampered by this President and I want Starr to give his report to Congress and be done with this mess!!I am a long term holder of Microsoft and believe Hatch and all should concentrate on our leadership as we pay them to do and leave free enterprise alone so we can continue to grow and prosper not only for our own country but for the world as well!!If they really want to stifle competition they should go up 30 miles north of me and see what that does to the poor people of NKorea who have died in the millions over the past 3years !!Thank God we have a hard won Constitution which Congess must uphold!!
