Last time I checked, 3COM is the leader in adapter sales (including OEM). But they were beaten in the LOM market.

I believe NSM and AMD used to be in this business but they seem to have dropped off the radar screen as 100 MBPs speeds have become popular. Both companies have also been focusing on "killing" Intel and have ended up killing what was once profitable business segments.

Don't forget - Intel makes a lot of motherboards - and that kind of gives Intel the "INSIDE" advantage on using their own chips for LOM applications.
