maybe.. depends on the trade. Upgrades are not all that important but in the scheme of things should never be overlooked. I usually play about 1 - 2 upgrades a week with mostly success some failures. Most of them are NOT in the techology sector, where all the problems lie.

I find that the tech sector has limitations in many areas. Sectors like retail, drugs, medical equipment, internet, software work fine. but as I said i don't make a habit of it. Actually in more than a few cases, I've either already owned the stock as an earnings call and the stock was upgraded after the report came out. Those are the best ones.

I disagree about the opening pop after an upgrade
I trade everyday on the upgrades and do well.
