The discussion related to a newsletter published by Top Dog

I still don't recall any discussion on this thread about this issue and Top Dog's findings, speculations, rumors..or what ever..how long ago did this discussion take place?

It is my understanding the dividend will not be issued in EDII shares

If this is true.....what affect could this cause and why would the company do such a thing?..please, both positive and negative hypothesis given equal weight...

Do you have any direct knowledge concerning the dividend?

no I don't....just waiting on news

Well that would be a remarkable departure from the very specific language of the Press Release dated July 9, 1998:

On July 1, 1998 the company announced a Dividend consisting of a Warrant for additional shares of the Company's common stock, but has since decided to issue actual shares of stock instead of Warrants. EDII has previously announced a formal change of its corporate name to American International Industries, Inc. EDII stock certificates will be replaced by new certificates at the appropriate time.

And we have it from the highest sources that the CUSIP number will change as well. The short squeeze was really quite something to behold last week as EDII went ex-dividend.

It just can't be true that a newsletter is saying that the distribution is now to be in shares of a subsidiary. That is such a material change from the public statements of the company, that absent a Press Release, or public statement by the company, that constitutes disclosure of Inside Information. No newsletter would be involved with something like that.

The dividend will be issued in EDII shares to all shareholders of record on Friday, August 28th. If you bought on August 31st, it was too late to get the dividend. Your broker will credit your account with an additional 10% shortly.

Joe Gort holds restricted shares and he advised me that he had no intention of selling any of his shares until they hit $5.

EDII is my favorite holding. It will grow and grow. As soon as the 10Q is released for the quarter ended September 30th, all speculation will disappear. Rumor is it that the Website will be up on Tuesday. The URL should be www.americanii.com

Forward and onward. Hold Looong.
