Chuzz,..***Off Topic***

Dear Chuzz, I bought more TLAB at 48.625 to average down! LOLOLOL Not worried though since I've been interested for over 6 months, just wish I could get a handle on that market timing ability that some on this thread seem so adept. LOL

Best,

Lee

Edit - Chopin's piano concertos fit mine and Nick's tastes.

Chuzz..TLAB is trading way below where it should be. It's clear buy. Given where CIEN is it could be that another company will take that pup off TLAB's hands. If you look at the disclosure statements there was another suitor that was "very interested". They didn't name the company but if this other company bids for CIEN everyone is happy. CIEN get's a better price and TLAB's get's the albatross off their neck. Note that CIEN is no albatross however. They too are trading below where they deserve to be because their product cycle is behind...but they've got a couple of great customers in WCOM and Sprint who will begin buying again this quarter.

TLAB will also have a good quarter and will beat estimates. We'll see a huge pop that day.

OG

Fascinating analysis. I agree that TLAB appears a great buy, but something doesn't add up. Could be that CIEN's technology is no longer viewed as competitive and potentially detrimental to TLAB's future profitability. Tulvio

Chuzz - <<OT>> TLAB - CIEN

What about this scenario: both are/would have been targets for a LU buy come October - could it be they are depressed as other trading investors wanted a bigger fish like LU with deeper pockets to take them?

Just a thought.

Have a good weekend (and hopefully a better week!)

Mr. K.

If you remember awhile back I feared a rise in the YEN, that is starting to happen. I see this as sign of a possible bottom in the Asian markets. The hysterestis (sp) in the global economic slow has allowed the USA to escape till now the slow down is or has started to catch up with the Americas, the USA will be the last due to size.. Will the FED have to lower rates?? Are their hands tied??

About two weeks ago, there was a post which laid out the scenario between TLAB, CIEN, LU and T. Now I can't find it. I think it was on the DELL thread, but it might have been a link to another thread. Was anyone here responsible for the original post, and if so, can you help me find it again?

The essence was that TLAB and CIEN had worked out a mutually beneficial merger, but LU felt threatened and used its connections with T to put off T's qual of TLAB equipment, which came to light on the morning of the shareholders meeting, so the merger vote had to be postponed, and enough FUD was generated to depress TLAB. (James Burke would be proud). I think that's it but I wanted to check the original post.

Stewart
