Dave,

One of the things I have observed about the media is that if an investor listens too much to newscasts and their explanation of what is happening and why, and acts on their 'insights', the investor would almost always be making the wrong move at the wrong time.

And, the reporters tend to be such good looking people who speak so well and so loudly on TV that their impact on us is almost unavoidable at times.

A few days ago, the media was saying that Russia might sell gold and other resources real cheap in order get hard currency; resource stocks seemed worthless. Yesterday, they were saying that Russia cannot sell their resources cheap because they don't have money to pay their miners; resources stocks and the Canadian $ are up sharply.

I sense that the media could not only hurt our portfolios, they could make us mentally unstable.

Jack

Hi Dave, I wonder if Ayn Rand would have been a bit shocked by the current administration?

I'm really enjoying my "visit" with Dagny, Hank, Francisco, JG and the gang.

Best regards, Tom
