You are right, WEBTV is not a huge winner, but for a whole variety of reasons. When TCI begins bringing this technology to homes it will be different.

I agree that browsing is a solo "sport", but many homes would rather do it in the confort of their own living rooms. The PC will still need web access - absolutely. Sorry, if I confused you on that. However many technologists years ago pointed to the PC as the Service provider D-mark making it a critical item for all homes for IP appliance based services. The PC as this target device has no been ruled out. The PC will be a home appliance just like the TV or the telephone. If you have a device bolted to the side of your house AND you have a TV station that let's you browse the web then less consumers will find a need for a PC..or that second PC in the house.

As for DELL in the consumer market - they need every market they can find to maintain growth rates. Sig, pointed out a few really good ones to look at...but your apparent lack of concern about DELL's future is one that I suspect is not shared by the DELL execs. Remember the typwritter ;)
