It's not that I am oblivious to threats to the PC, but I believe that the DELL exec's ARE worrying about this more than I am. They have done an excellent job of identifying markets up to now, and I doubt that they are resting on their laurels now. Each of the markets that they have recently entered has significant competition and risk, yet they seem to execute well.

Do you see faults in their logic that they are oblivious to? We have identified big problems in their major competitors, but we have not been able to find corresponding problems with DELL. I know, I know, it doesn't mean they don't exist, but they're certainly not as apparent a with some other companies. Believe me we are not momentum players here. We follow the company, then the stock.

The Residential Gateway is a ways off, you'll have to agree. And who says they can't enter that market too? Who says they have to stick to our definition of a PC? These guys are very perceptive and agile. I trust them, (but I'll stay on the SI thread just in case.)

As in many arguments, the real argument is with one's self, and all the bombast is to justify one's existing position. That is probably true for the DELL bulls, as it seems to be with you. We rather enjoy defending our favorite company, and we welcome your probing challenges.

Regards,
Stewart
