To Chuzzlewit and Michelle Harris: When gentlemen (and ladies) define their terms, knowledge increases. What is "valued added?" or its even more jargony "the value add." One hears this term everywhere now as in "We'd like to hire Joe, but what's the value add?" Michelle had said Dell's value add was in its "infrastucture" or its efficient distribution system. I don't quite grasp this. That is to say, I understand the remarkable distribution system dell has created but I dont quite see how it represents Value added. I'm not disputing it; I just don't see it. I conclude that I must not fully know what value added means. Can the Lady and the Cat clarify?
