Don- I am thinking that perhaps because the momentum has been stronger in this downward move, that in either 29 or 87, that perhaps we have our relief rally a bit sooner- because I am wondering if depth of initial drop and momentum are related. So if we keep accelerating the moves I would expect a shorter relief rally than in either 87 or 29, and then another steep drop- assuming there is some unifying character to each correction or bear. I wonder if each stage can be mathematically modeled and compared- and if there is some cohesive pattern. Has anyone been doing this sort of thing? I am thinking of something along the lines of a ratiometric comparison of each stage in the last centuries major drops. I am not a good enough mathematician to do it myself. Do you know of anything like this?
