Speaking of bearish, did you folks here these little trio of quotes (in today's paper)...said just before/after the meeting Friday night:

"...it is just not credible that the US can remain an oasis of prosperity unaffected by a world that is experiencing greatly increased stress."
-Alan Greenjeans

"These are clearly extremely difficult times...This is an unprecidented situation...The number of countries experiencing difficulties at once is something we have not seen before."

-Rubin

Both these guys are usually VERY careful what they say. They said a lot

"We are in a situation which is indeed a dangerous one, by far not fully rational."

-Micheal Camdessus, IMF

AND

Failure of a major Japanese bank, the Long Term Credit Bank of Japan, "might result in systemic risk for the US and for Japan."
(read "systemic" as global recession)

-Miyazawa (Japan's Finance Minister)

And last but not least, the headline in my local paper said this morning:

"US, Japan show signs of growing economic rift."

Our business section was basically dedicated to explaining how you "need a plan" for lifetime investing...but this time they were talking money market funds and munis...NOT STOCKS! There is a major opinion change out there folks.

Yea, a distinct possibility. Maybe we open up 25 points and then roll over, or maybe we just jump off a cliff? I could care less as long as we go DOWN (G)
