Alan,

I don't do TA so can you help me here a bit please. Setting aside other factors, are you saying that you will enter a trade not when the TICK is positive, but instead when the TICK is still negative, but at what you perceive to be its bottom?

In other words, do you wait for the TICK to go as low as seems possible, then enter the trade when it seems to turn less negative?

If so, I guess this is something akin to my watching of the DOW. I wait for it to go as negative as seems likely in that cycle, and then enter a trade as it makes an upward move.

Thanks in advance, and this has been a great discussion this morning,

Gary Korn

Alan,

Thanks a lot for an extremely well-written response. Your insight is appreciated and I am sure will be helpful to a lot of us. Seems like I'll have to follow your posts more closely from now on. I have a feeling they will be worth printing and adding to my notebook of "really useful stuff."

Thanks,

Bill
