Morning Ike,..Re:I will think that going by past performance of this bull trend I would like market to start appreciating the positive impact of $ weakness for export related corporations-

Another positive associated with $ weakness is the fact that many commodities are priced globally in dollars, crude for example, and this should help alleviate some of the demand problems if $ stabilizes at a somewhat lower level.

Congratulations on your short puts trade.

Best,

Lee

Good Morning Iqbal...

Well I think all that read this thread, posters & lurkers alike, who questioned the power of Alan Greenspan, will NOW see that translated into a gigantic rally...

while AG's influence on markets is evident, most of the time they are 1-2 day wonders, and then the trend continues...this time since we were SO oversold anyway, it coincides with a nice tradeable rally...

IKE i wanted to reafirm to you & all, that my views have NOT changed...i will trade the rally, but sell into it at every chance i get...i will NOT accumulate any stock as an investment...not yet...i still see much lower lows...

here's why....every country that's in financial trouble is trying to do things that are NOT in the best interest of investors "within a Free Market" environment....these moves in Asia, and else where can NOT sustain their markets or their currency...they just won't work...when you use physudo(sp) means to prop your stock or currency it always comes back to haunt you....IMO.....it cannot be sustained...artifically...NEVER.....

because of those factors, and because of my perception of a definate slowing of world economies, & here as well, there is NO chance our Corps will maintain profits as before...NO Chance...

I feel that AG has completely abandonded raising rates for the forseeable future say, 1 year or so....as we move into recession, albeit a mild one,in 99' 2000, I hope, he will be forced at SOME time to ease...IMO "THAT" will be he right time to buy into the market for investment purposes and NOT until then...

SO IKE my friend...let's trade the flux, look for an explosive rally, trade it, try to recoup large losses in our portfolios, and trading accounts, and then sell the hell out of this rally and stand aside before major tax-loss sales begin in earnest....EARLY!!!!!!!!!!

this should put a smile on our faces, but for the grace of GOD & AG<G> for giving us this golden opportunity....take it FWIW.....

i'm telling everyone DON'T get complacent!!!!!!!! get the cash, trade, scalp, flip, position trade, and sell sell sell...raise cash and smile smile smile.........

TUES should be one wild and crazy day ..........I always liked Alan G..........:>}........<gggggggggggggggg>.....what a guy!!!!

IKE, you only speak about the good side of the USD weakness,
but there is also a bad side of the USD weakness, and you should know it and tell it to the thread, in order to make a balance statement
about the possibles outcomes for the markets in general.
For example, and i want to put it very clear, this is just my opinion, the weakness in the USD if it goes down the 130 yen level, will for sure put alot of pronblems to the japan economy, and of course to the Nikkei, due to expanded asset deflation in Japan. That would cause a serious damage to the Japan economy,If the usd/yen goes down the 130 level we will see the Nikkei in real trouble, and after that , the Banks and after that you all now what will follow. the US will be afected for sure.
So, in my opinion, the weakness of the us dollar also has its dangerous consequences. Just my two cents.

And becarefull, the crisis in Russia is most serious than mere trade.
The Russia losses are going to spread over the Eastern Europe, and also is going to spill over into Latin America within months, and may seriously impact the EURO next year.

So i am not quite sure about your positive outlook right now, we must be very carefull, we are dealing with an animal that maybe most of us we never deal with in our entire life, be carefull, that's my advice.
We can no be Bulls forever, we must remain alerts.
Take care.
juan Jose.
