OT
Most of the lawayers I know or have dealt with have no character. They want money and do nothing. They act totally irresponsible as nobody will sue them even judges don't take any action as a judge was a liar before. This observation is based on hearing from the actual experience of the real people. So, enough of this. Lets stick with CYMI.

Alan,

I almost agreed with all of the points made in your post until you said,

" quit making broad generalizations of a group of people whom you apparently see as little better than common petty criminals.
Nothing could be further from the truth. If you want to single out Bill Lerach as an example of a reprehensible parasite, fine. Just do not try to paint the entire profession with the same brush. I find such an attitude surprisingly narrow minded and out of character for someone such as yourself who obviously gives a great deal of thought about just about everything else."

1. I fully accept that, just as with any other segment of the population, more than 90% of Lawyers are dedicated professionals.

2. OTOH, less than 10% are reprehensible parasites stealing resources that others have struggled all their lives to accumulate. Whether it's the Lerach example or some other lowlife who steals life savings from senile clients, they are a serious blight on society given the position of trust that they're in.

3. My lawyer comments are not out of character. I frequently use hyperbole and my sense of humour to make points. I'm surprised that someone who seems to have read other of my posts would take my lawyer comments absolutely literally and consider them to be firmly held beliefs of mine.

4. I also read your posts and almost invariably respect your opinions and value the information that you share.

Ian.
