Alstom Receives $301 Million In Power-Plant Orders

LONDON -(Dow Jones)- Anglo-French engineering company Alstom SA
Tuesday said it recieved orders valued at a combined 180 million pounds
($301 million) to supply gas turbines and gas-fired power plants in the
United Arab Emirates, Oman, Iran, Brazil and Vietnam.
In the UAE, Alstom (ALS) will convert a simple-cycle gas-turbine
power plant into a combined-cycle operation. It will also supply two gas
turbines to an electricity and water authority.
The Oman contract is for two simple-cycle power plants, while in Iran
Alstom will supply two gas turbines.
Alstom will supply Brazilian independent power producer Enersul with
two gas turbines and generators for simple cycle plants.
In Vietnam, it will supply two gas turbines for the expansion of a
power plant in the south of the country.
