michael,

My thoughts are very simple on Yahoo versus SI. Yahoo is a free-for-all and I will not post with the a$$holes that dominate that site. I strongly feel that the people who post here on SI far exceed the collective intelligence of the posters on Yahoo. If someone can't cough up $200 for a lifetime privilege, then I don't think we need them here. I like the idea of paying to post. I think it helps to keep the posting here somewhat responsible.

a small investment firm is in process of sending thoughts to SI

Small investment firms constitute one of the largest groups of pump 'n dumps on any of the boards (in my opinion). Again, I say tough situation. If small firms don't want to pay, go post somewhere else. In reality what happens, is that these guys spam their pumps all over the place, SI gives them the boot, and then they have to come up with the money to buy a new alias and start their crap all over again. I don't think we need them. They contribute absolutely nothing.

And, yes, I do feel rather strongly on the subject, and I acknowledge that you were parroting someone else's request, so don't take this personally. It is intended for them.

KJC

Mike - I want nothing to do with the Yahoo notes. There are so many misinformed people there that I don't want to get started on that board.

Yahoo: Probably not.
AOL: Definitely Not. I despise AOL.

Question: Why do you want a free board? I was hoping the quality of information would be higher on SI than on Yahoo because of the fee. I have seen the Yahoo string, and I value this one more. The Yahoo board strikes me as very uninformed. AOL would without doubt be far worse.

Overall, I would say that unless you have some compelling reason for championing the Yahoo board, I'll stick to SI.
